Name: Eventide Burger
Location: Eventide Oyster Co., 86 Middle St, Portland, ME 04101
Protein: 4 oz. aged local beef
Bun: Katsu Bun
Toppings: American cheese, tallow mayo, shredded lettuce, pickled red onions, and a cornichon
Burger to Bun Ratio: Slightly more bun. Bun appears thick.
Upon first glance, I thought there would be way too much bread with each bite, however, the Katsu bun was airy and had a slightly sweet taste. The juicy burger yielded tangy and savory flavors with each bite. The accompanying fries were seasoned, crispy, and tasty.
After several visits to Eventide, I’ve only seen the burger available one time, and it was during the lunch hour. If it’s your first time and you haven’t had their lobster rolls yet, go get that. If it’s your second time or more, this burger is a great option if you’re in the mood for some meat.
